"POLICE DRAGNET CLOSES IN ON A KILLER!"
Dave Nelson, who works at a new magazine, appears to have lost his promotion and his girlfriend at the hands of his rival Bill Strayte. That evening, Nelson decides to go into town to drown his sorrows. The next morning, when he finally gets home, Strayte's corpse is in his flat. After contacting the police, Nelson tries to find Christy, a woman he spent the night with and who can provide him with an alibi. However, she seems to have disappeared. With the help of a fellow writer, Nelson tries to retrace his steps while discovering who would want Strayte dead, and for what reason.
