French nurse Carlotta Duval is willing to help her American friend George McAllister to get the money from his terminally ill brother Barry. Carlotta is willing to marry Barry for his money, despite knowing full well that he has only a few months to live. However, Carlotta unwittingly falls in love with Barry and as a nurse she manages to get Barry back to health with dedicated care. George is of course not happy about this and he contacts the sneaky blackmailer Ernie Hicks to permanently disrupt Carlotta's and Barry's recent happiness.
