"A RACE FOR GOLD AND A GIRL. ROMANCE, ROBUST ACTION AGAINST THE COLORFUL BACKGROUND OF THAT GRAND OLD AMERICAN INSTITUTION!"

Waiter and former jockey Jimmie Dolan finally gets another chance at a horse race when Kentucky gentleman and gambler Colonel Ainsworth, who always loses on his bets, encounters his four-year-old thoroughbred racing at a festival. Despite the intervention of illegal gambler Diamond Barnett and his gang, Jimmie not only wins the race, but also seems to win the affection of Ainsworth's daughter Alice, who works as a cigar saleswoman at the racetrack restaurant.
