Bill Whitlock, the warden of a large prison, must make a decision. The only way he can prevent an innocent man, Jimmy Hutchins, from dying in the electric chair is to return a stolen loot that has come into his possession. It is a fairly large amount, something that makes his conscience work overtime, but that should not really bother him.
