An aspiring actress, who has just married a journalist, urgently needs money for her education and the household. Meanwhile, her husband has discovered something: a shady affair of cheating at the roulette table in the casino. The woman gets involved by playing and "winning", but she unknowingly helps a mobster. This criminal is engaged in a power struggle with the boss of the casino.
