Never Too Late plot
In a hotel room, Helen Lloyd sees jewel thief Morris Lavalle putting her sister Marie Lloyd Hartley's pearl necklace in a shoe. Helen points a gun at Lavalle, but he escapes when the police knock on the door. Marie's husband is Police Commissioner John Hartley and Helen can leave without explaining why she was in Lavalle's hotel room. The police confiscate the suitcase containing the shoe with the chain and this suitcase is then auctioned by them. After the suitcase is sold, Helen breaks into the new owner's house and finds Detective Dick Manning there. Manning hunts down Lavalle and his gang and also tries to get hold of the stolen necklace.
