Miss Bala plot

Laura is a young girl who wants to participate in the Miss Baja California beauty pageant with her friend Suzu. They invade a club's VIP zone in hopes of getting in touch with some powerful men who can help them win the match. However, the club comes under fire from armed gang members. Laura survives the attack but remains in the dark about her friend's fate. In an attempt to find out what happened, Laura falls into the hands of the drug cartel that carried out the attack and, along with the charismatic but evil leader of the cartel, finds herself deeply embroiled in a spiral of violence.
