I Was Framed plot

Journalist Ken Marshall is investigating political corruption. Marshall unveils proof that, if published, it will ruin a candidate's career for governor. To avoid publication, Marshall is knocked unconscious, soaked in whiskey, then placed behind the wheel of a car and driven onto the highway. A car wreck is found with three dead. Marshall ends up in prison, but manages to escape five years later. Marshall takes on a different identity, but an ex-cellmate recognizes him and begins blackmailing him.
