Well-educated and intelligent Vladimir is a well-known scientist. One day he robs a bank in the city center and takes ten people hostage, including a member of parliament, a lawyer and a young mother with her daughter. His act attracts many police officers, who try to negotiate with Vladimir. It soon becomes clear to them what his motive is.
