Zitti e Mosca plot
A political satire on the deception of the Communists and the Left in Italy and on the polemics that accompanied the name change from the Italian Communist Party (PCI) to the Left Democratic Party (PDS) in early 1991. The story is set in a rural Tuscan village during the PDS's first Unity Festival. Both happy and sad stories are told by four generations of Italians, reflecting the changes in Italian society. These diverse characters provide mocking and disenchanting comments on contemporary politics after the fall of communism in Eastern Europe.
