White Lies plot
Leon Turner (Gilliard Jr.) is a black attendant at New York's renowned Guggenheim Museum. To be interesting, and to impress a few girls, he convinces ambitious art lover Mimi Furst (Warner) that he is a painter himself. Mimi Furst, herself an assistant at a renowned art gallery, thinks Leon could be the next Basquiat. Leon joins the game. He succeeds in his aim, but it becomes difficult when Mimi wants to exhibit his work. He recruits a homeless drug-addicted painter (Arquette), who does the painting for him. She is willing to do anything for money, with which she can buy drugs. The problem is only; she only makes self-portraits.
