Welcome Stranger plot

An average man of Jewish origin, Isadore Solomon, arrives with his daughter Essie in a small, predominantly Christian New England town. The discriminating population, including the mayor, is trying with all their might to get rid of them. Solomon is then asked by Clem to invest in a power plant. This is an opportunity for him to put his family in a better light with the citizens.
