Wandering Daughters plot

Bessie Bowden is a nice, old-fashioned young lady. The equally nice and old-fashioned John Hargraves proposes to her one day, which she accepts. But then Bessie suddenly falls in love with jazz music-obsessed Austin Trull, and she becomes a dissolute person overnight. Much to his dismay, Hargraves is unable to get her attention.
