Under Suspicion plot

Gerry Simpson meets newspaper reporter Virginia Blake and, after discovering she has no use for the lazy rich, decides to become a reporter and trick Virginia into believing he's poor to win her over. Both are very happy until Virginia begins to believe Gerry is responsible for a series of robberies at fashionable events. She goes to his apartment but is interrupted by Gerry's valet. Gerry arrives home in time to save Virginia from the wrath of the corrupt valet, and after the thief is held accountable, Virginia, convinced of Gerry's innocence, promises to marry him.
