In Los Angeles, lonely Violet has a thankless job as an assistant to Bob Devore, a famous comedian and host of a live variety show called "Too Late." Only Violet knows that Bob is a monster both literally and figuratively. Her life takes a positive turn when she meets aspiring comedian Jimmy Rhodes and sparks fly. But as her feelings for Jimmy grow and Bob begins to question her loyalty, the odds grow that she and her new lover will become Bob's next meal.
