Heiress Joan Foster is one of the few single passengers aboard an ocean liner. Joan's stepmother 'Ma' Gillespie watches over her like a hawk. To escape that, Joan begins an affair with second officer Dick Charlton. However, Joan is unaware that Charlton has been hired by her father to keep other men away from her. Complications are inevitable.
