The Lucky Stiff plot
The moderately successful lawyer John J. Malone is captivated by local nightclub singer Anna Marie St. Claire. Not long after meeting Anne at this nightclub, her employer is murdered. Anna is the prime suspect and she is being charged with murder. When Anna is sentenced to death, John and his devoted secretary Marguerite Seaton set out to find the real killer.
