The Late Shift plot

"Two heads fighting for the late night crown - One head's gotta roll."

Johnny Carson, the host of the popular American program "The Tonight Show", retires, and the NBC program bosses immediately start looking for a replacement. Both Jay Leno and David Letterman compete for the program, but thanks in part to his rock-hard manager Helen Kushnick, Leno seems to have an edge at NBC.
