The Job plot
Bubba Bradley lives in a dead industrial town where the possibilities are as dried up as prairie grass. What keeps him going is the promise of Joy, a frail former child actress. When Bubba meets Jim, a vagrant who doesn't stay anywhere for more than 72 hours, his luck seems to change. In exchange for Bubba's parking spot for his junk, Jim gives him a tip about a local employment agency, a tip he got from someone he helped change a tire. Perriman from the agency offers him a job, but the job isn't quite what he expected. Bubba will have to learn if he has a killer instinct to do what is necessary.
