The Daring Young Man plot
"A gay jamboree of Joe-viality!"
Jonathan Penkinpaw thinks he's a failure. Therefore, he wants to prove himself by serving his country. Journalists who follow him closely, however, find that he is not cut from the right cloth, as he fails every inspection. Then Jonathan meets Sam Long, an inventor of a very curious bowling ball.
