The Broadway Hoofer plot

Overworked and exhausted Broadway dancer Adele Dorey decides to leave hectic New York behind and moves to a village in the quiet countryside. But when promoter Bobby Lewis of the Gay Girlies Burlesque Company arrives, he chooses Adele, unaware that she's already a celebrity elsewhere, above all the other pretty village girls to star in his new show. She headlong introduces her maid Jane as her mother and accepts a contract.
