Kate is a cynical stand-up comedian who turns her unhappy life into material for her act. Alone and already in her thirties, she is on a lot of drugs and prefers quick encounters over anything that can involve emotional involvement. When she is diagnosed with breast cancer, her first thought is to just end it. To take the easy way out. But after she is persuaded by her family to undergo chemotherapy, life begins to surprise her.
