The Beagles and the Hicks, two mountain-dwelling families, have had a feud since time immemorial. They may be able to reunite with the help of two former circus performers Powderhorn Pete and Dead-Eye Dan. Both were actually hired by the Beagles to drive out the Hicks by force of arms. But the "snipers" Pete and Dan turn out to be afraid of firearms and resort to other tactics.
