Count Augustino 'Gus' Caraffa is an opera star, whose amorous adventures are widely known. The young and naive Isabelle Perry is Caraffa's biggest fan. To save her idol from Harry Donnelly, a debatable tabloid publisher, Isabelle agrees to marry him in name only. She hopes, however, to achieve that Caraffa will eventually really fall in love with her. Several romantic complications follow and it looks like Caraffa is ending his amorous adventures.
