Society Snobs plot

"Leaders of New York Society Completely Taken in by Man They Had Frequently Tipped"

Italian-American Lorenzo Carilo, who fails in administrative work, becomes a waiter and falls for the charms of Vivian Forrester, a society girl who disdains her subordinates. She rejects the wealthy Duane Thornton's request, and in retaliation, he introduces Carilo to Vivian as the Duke d'Amunzi. Encouraged by her ambitious mother, she accepts Carilo's advances. On their wedding night, he confesses to the deception, and Vivian promptly leaves him to arrange for an annulment. However, she forgives him, and they are reunited.
