Smalltown plot

David is a recent graduate student. While he is deeply depressed, he meets a mysterious girl, Kelly, who sees his talent and tries to inspire him. Through a discussion of Rip Van Winkle's story, David discovers a parallel between his own life and the man who has slept away his whole life. Fearing that his life will pass him by, David must make a choice.
