Sing Along plot

Like many his age, Stephen is a 14-year-old with a big dream. He wants to shine on Broadway one day. Unfortunately, he is so shy that he is afraid to talk to others and when he does, he stutters uncontrollably. Still, he can't shake his imagination and he sees an overwhelming New York City as a cheerful musical with singing cafeteria ladies and history teachers. But his mother doesn't encourage him at all. She points out that a career in musical theater is doomed to failure. Will she ever understand that being creative isn't something that can be compromised?
