Silk Hosiery plot

In a prologue, while a woman is leafing through a book, male figures appear, including a musketeer, a cowboy, a swordsman, and a military officer, and bow. In the main story, Prince Ferdinandi's visit causes New York society ladies to rush to buy dresses for the upcoming ball. The woman who looks at the book earlier, model Marjorie Bowen, resists the advances of Cadwallader Smith, who is accompanying a client. When the handsome Sir Derwain Leeds, the Prince's aide-de-camp, arrives to see his fiancée Yvette Fernau getting dressed, Marjorie exchanges a shy smile with him.
