Heiress Carol Rogers returns from an extended overseas vacation to learn that her father has died, leaving her with a mountain of debt. To keep her creditors at bay, her Aunt Jane and friend Waldo hatch a plan. Carol takes a job as an assistant to wealthy coffee magnate Fuller Partridge, hoping that this will lead to love and eventually marriage. Unfortunately, the plan is plagued by obstacles, especially when a bumbling hypnotist hired to hypnotize Carol accidentally hypnotizes Aunt Jane.
