Jane (Linda Evans) is a top TV presenter. She is married and has a daughter. She has to fill in for a colleague and judges in an election who is the most romantic man in San Francisco. She falls in love with Mike (Larry Poindexter), one of the finalists, who uses all his charms to win. Much to the chagrin of Evans' fiancé, the stable and level-headed judge Warren Danvers (Tom Skerritt).
