"Faith alone doesn’t cut it anymore"
Pastor Dan Day (Pierce Brosnan) is a hero with his own TV show, real estate ambitions and a leadership role in his congregation. Two of his main followers Carl Vandeveer (Greg Kinnear) and his wife Gwen (Jennifer Connelly) are also two pillars in the community. Carl hopes to do business with Dan who plans to build a large complex. His 'city on the hill' project with apartments, cinemas, ships and restaurants is completely dedicated to the power of his vision. But what his followers don't know is that Dan isn't the morally committed pastor they think he is.
