Raising the Wind plot
"A laugh in every note!"
Mervyn, Malcolm, Alex, Miranda and Jill are conservatory students who decide to share a flat to cut their living expenses. They also have a place to practice together. During their stay, they suffer the condescending remarks of the caustic Sir Benjamin Boyd, the conductor of the student orchestra, and the antics of the school's other talented but eccentric teachers. When Mervyn, a gifted composer, sells a catchy pop tune to an advertising agency, he risks losing his scholarship.
