Alvaro Latini has served the sentence for his crimes in the prison of Regina Coeli and is released. His mother and his wife give him a cold reception. However, Otello, the fishmonger, Mario, a waiter and Spartaco, their boss - welcome Alvara warmly. Alvaro, who has learned many criminal tricks in prison, tries to turn his friends into crime and presents them with all the dreams that counterfeit money can make real.
