Quartett zu Fünft plot

Four very different women live together under one roof: Irene, a young policewoman, Helga, a resolute employee, Betty, a very young hairdresser and Anne, owner of the house and widow since her husband died in the war. The fifth person, the war veteran Martin, soon causes some confusion in the quartet. First of all, he has to establish that he is actually no longer alive, because he was officially declared dead. Anne, who soon falls in love with Martin, gives him her deceased husband's identity papers. And the other women are also interested in Martin. But he has a much bigger problem: he returned from the war with serious internal injuries. Helga, who knows a renowned doctor, can persuade him to undergo surgery so that he can regain his full strength. But the operation is very risky...
