Postchi plot
Kind of parable for which Mehrjui freely based himself on Georg Büchner's Woyzeck. Taghi is the Woyzeck of Mehrjui. He is a postman, but cannot support himself with his meager wages. That is why he also collects herbs for the vet and works as a servant of an alcoholic sheep breeder. He also frantically participates in the national lottery, which reinforces his obsession with numbers. Taghi has a beautiful wife, but is impotent. The vet tries to cure him with the help of herbs sought by Taghi himself, but when there is no cure, Taghi's world continues to crumble. The vet is arrested for getting involved in healing people and the sheep breeder is forced by his cousin to keep pigs. Taghi flees into the forest. When he is found by his wife, he commits a fatal act.
