Plain Jane plot

Sophomore John Adams tries to make his way through college. Jane is an orphan girl who works in the boarding house where John lives. He doesn't pay much attention to Jane, while she has a soft spot for him. One day an older photographer dresses her up, takes some pictures and she wins first prize in the college beauty pageant. When the photographer adopts her, John wakes up and realizes he is in love with her.
