Penrod's Double Trouble plot

Penrod Schofield is missing. Convinced that he has been kidnapped, his parents offer a $5,000 reward for information leading to their son's return. When the circus promoter Caligostro, who calls himself a professor, returns Penrod to his parents, they don't suspect that he is really Danny. Danny is a runaway orphan who looks exactly like Penrod. The real Penrod is being held captive by Caligostro's gang. It is to be hoped for Penrod that Danny becomes conscientious and summons the boys next door to find him before Caligostro collects the reward and then escapes.
