Pechki-lavochki plot
A poor man suffering from tuberculosis is accompanied by his wife when he travels by train to a sanatorium in Yalta. During their journey, the couple encounters a wide variety of people, from a mocking city dweller to a generous thief. Once they arrive, they are told that there is no room in the sanatorium for his wife. However, they have no money to let her stay somewhere or return home.
