Every year a troop of cycling tourists gather for the traditional ascent at the foot of the 2,632m high Col de Parpaillon in the French Alps. For some it is the first time, others already have more experience. Some come to watch and others want to be watched. Sportsmanship is not a general rule, rich and poor are equal these days.
