Nummisuutarit plot

Esko and Jaana are two children who often visit an old soldier in the small village where they live. The soldier becomes attached to the children and writes in his will that whoever gets married first will inherit a substantial amount of money. After Jaana's mother dies, she is adopted by Esko's father. When they are old enough, Esko's mother wants him to get married first. She sends him off to find a wife.
