Will Webb marries Mary Lane, an amateur theater actress, and settles into domestic life. Natalie Woods, an old friend of Will's about whom Mary previously knew nothing, returns from Europe and wants to regain Will's affection. Mary then feels extremely uncomfortable and jealous, which causes complications.
