Sisters Ruth and Eileen Sherwood move from Ohio to New York to pursue a career there. Ruth wants a job as a writer while Eileen dreams of the stage. They end up in a lousy apartment in Greenwich Village where all kinds of strange characters walk around. Fortunately, they also meet magazine editor Bob Baker who wants to help them personally.
