Monsieur Papa plot
Frank Lanier, known as “Monsieur Papa,” lives alone with his ten-year-old son Laurent. He does the grocery shopping, makes breakfast, goes to the dry cleaners, and sets the dinner table. How would Monsieur Papa manage if he didn’t have his son? Laurent, on the other hand, isn’t very good at spelling, but nobody’s perfect. One day, a new girlfriend appears in his father’s life. Laurent is not in favor of Janine’s arrival. He’s afraid she’ll steal his father’s love from him. And he doubles down on his spelling mistakes. Two plane tickets to Bangkok that he finds on the table are the straw that breaks the fragile family silence: Janine goes with him, but Laurent doesn’t.
