Minna no Ie plot
Naosuke Iijima is a successful screenwriter who wants to build their dream home with his wife Tamiko. Tamiko enlists the help of her old schoolmate Yanagisawa, a talented, courteous and quite arrogant architect. However, he does not have the necessary permits to actually build, so Naosuke asks his father Choichiro, a grossly retired carpenter, to take care of this part of the work. Yanagisawa's artistic pretensions soon clash with Choichiro's arch-conservative ideas and soon the construction site looks more like a battlefield.
