Mermaid plot

Drug addict Doug shares custody of their daughter with his ex. Doug is lonely, loses his job and decides to go out on the water to end his life. However, he comes across an injured mermaid who he saves from death and takes home. A close bond grows between the two, but the rumor about his new roommate soon goes around.
