Matinee Ladies plot

Law student Bob Ward is broke and takes a job in a roadside diner, where most of his customers are women looking for a little extramarital excitement. He falls in love with Sallie Smith, a cigarette girl in the diner, but she is also the object of interest to wealthy young man Tom Mannion. Tom persuades Sallie to attend a party on his yacht, and since she has had a fight with Bob about his job, she accepts his proposal. This leads to a number of complications.
