Masquerade in Mexico plot
"Lies, love and laughter - a show-stopping musical"
American nightclub entertainer Angel O'Reilly flies to Mexico City. During the flight, she slips a stolen diamond into the pocket of her air-sick neighbor, the banker Thomas Grant. Thomas is stopped in Mexico City by customs officials when they find the famous diamond in his pocket. Angel breaks off her engagement to Boris Cassall, who has forced her to smuggle the diamond across the border. Angel then slips away from Boris, who carries her wallet to prevent her from escaping. In the city Angel meets the friendly taxi driver Paolo. Unable to find work for Angel, Paolo tells the owner of a posh nightclub that Angel is Costa Mora's Spanish Contessa and she is then hired by him to perform.
