Inken, Vicky and Lena are best friends and have a common goal: their first orgasm. The self-confident Inken tries to imitate her rival Cheyenne and waits impatiently for the climax with her boyfriend Tim. Lena, on the other hand, gathers the courage to approach her crush Nick, while Vicky takes a small detour and instead of satisfaction, first gets a vaginal yeast infection. In addition to these adventures, the friendship of the three is tested by secrets, Inken's best friend Flin does not want to stay in the friend zone any longer and her father Gero starts his own romantic escapades.

The film is a remake of the 2001 film of the same name. A particularly successful film that drew large audiences to cinemas. A cheerful film about three friends celebrating the summer holidays who, in addition to partying, swimming, and sunbathing, occupy themselves with themes such as sexual desire, the orgasm, and masturbation. The remake is intended for a new and young audience and has therefore been slightly refreshed with modern elements such as the smartphone and social media, but otherwise differs hardly at all from the original.
Despite the striking themes, the film is primarily a feel-good comedy about three best friends. Three friends who encounter the judgment, bravado, and (obvious) humor of male peers regarding sex-related matters, and who question it. Three friends who tell each other just about everything, support each other, and manage to overcome mutual conflicts through their close friendship.
The storyline is somewhat fragmented. In terms of content, it doesn't really mean much. The characters aren't very complex, and any problems that arise disappear quickly. The film aims to be an enjoyable experience, and it succeeds. Mädchen Mädchen is a nice summer feel-good movie.
