Little Evil is once again proof to me that you shouldn't let yourself be guided too much by the ratings a movie gets!

After seeing the trailer, I thought it would be a fun movie to watch. And the fact that it's from the director of Tucker & Dale (fave horror/comedy ever!) only fueled that further. But the ratings here are pretty low, so I started to doubt again. Hmmmm.... shall I watch another movie then.... But no, I felt like this and sat down for it.

And happy! I have not regretted my choice for a moment! Because Little Evil has become a wonderful horror / comedy. Is it scary? No... but is that necessary? There are just elements from horror movies that they poke fun at here (lights that suddenly go out, etc). Will they win an Oscar for this? No of course not!! And the makers themselves know that too.

Really enjoy the atmosphere of the movie. Don't take it too seriously and grab a nice bowl of chips while watching this movie. But definitely give it a chance.

Just a nice video! 3.5*

A bit disappointing, because the idea is nice. A film with the necessary nods to The Omen and Rosemary's Baby, among others. With a mother who doesn't see bad in her son and a stepfather who does his best to bond with his stepson, which is not easy without the necessary demons. Some more colorful figures around it and it should still work. The humor never really comes out and the horror had already made way for the parody content. Still a missed opportunity and certainly not one that lingers. Shame!

Pretty standard horror comedy. I'm not a connoisseur or fan of horror at all, but the references are so easy that there is enough recognition even for laymen. However, it never really wants to be funny. The first half hour is often the best in such films and that is also the case here. Afterwards it ripples on, without significant highlights when it comes to comedy.
