Life's a Funny Proposition plot

The young New York lawyer Jimmie Pendleton is rather shy around girls. Yet he spends a lot of time escapades with his friend Herbert Austin, which often requires him to pay his eccentric Uncle Tobias. After Jimmie becomes engaged to Herbert's sister Mary, Uncle Tobias arrives from Kansas with his overweight cousin Hepzibah and promises Jimmie $20,000 in bonds if he marries her.
